VISION

The Bachelor of Public Administration program envisions to be the primer in Northern Mindanao for academic and service excellence with the highest values and ideals of Public Administration to contribute effectively and efficiently in the delivery of public services.

MISSION

The Bachelor of Public Administration is committed to produce quality graduates in the field of Public Administration who are technically and morally competent public servants, who meet the needs and challenges of public service.

GOALS

  • Strengthen instruction and training for skills in Public Administration fields of concerns in the areas of Human Resources Management, Policy Research Formulation, Public Fiscal and Local Government Administration.
  • Develop competent professionals to serve in the various government agencies and private sectors.
  • Create support for quality education of the marginalized sector and cultural communities/indigenous people for holistic development.
  • Conduct researches to critically analyze policies, programs and issues in local governments and make pertinent recommendations.
  • Promote peace and sustainable development.
  • OBJECTIVES

    1. To lead us actively take in the re-engineering local governments in Northern Mindanao.

    2. To undertake special training for practitioners in Public Administration to realize public administration theories and practices.

    3. To provide technical supports to government agencies, NGO’s and people organizations in the areas of Public Administration.

    4. To continually upgrade the curricular offerings for relevance and effectiveness of Public Administration program.

    5. To actively participate with Public Administration programs to build linkages with administrators, and augment knowledge in Public Administration

    PROGRAM OUTCOMES

    Specific to the Discipline of Public Administration:

    1. Synthesize policy issues as they are framed by Public Administration and good governance.
    2. Apply the SAVIOR ethical framework to public policy for public service.
    3. Identify the theories and principles controlling public finance, and create budgets at the state, country, and municipal levels of government adherence to the principles of accountability, responsiveness, nationalism, and democracy.
    4. Apply the techniques of planning in public administration and resource management for government and civil society organizations.
    5. Implement the principles of personnel management, including affirmative action, collective bargaining and civil service to promote and protect public interest.
    6. Apply scientific and policy research analysis to public sector decision-making and evaluate the principal approaches to research design.

    CAREER EXPECTATIONS

    BPA prepares its graduates for technical and administrative positions in government, including the Foreign Service and Civil Society. It is a good preparation for those interested in taking up law. Graduates can look forward to executive and policy-making positions in government, both elective and appointive, as well as executive and policy-making positions in civil society organizations.

      Entry level job:

    1. Technical assistants in government and civil society.
    2. Researchers in government, civil society and academic institutions.
    3. Development managers of small and medium-sized voluntary sector or civil society organizations.

    6. Elective positions in local and national government.
    7. Executives in national, regional and international organizations.
